We recently found out that we received four Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award nominations and could not be more ecstatic! Our new CD Luster, released in December of 2015, was nominated for Best Female Collegiate Album- shout out to Alex Peterson, Moira Lennon, and Hannah Montanez for their great arrangements! "Wait It Out," arranged and soloed by Alex Peterson, was nominated for Best Female Collegiate Arrangement. And finally, "I Will Never Die," arranged by Moira Lennon and soloed by Sophie Maus, was nominated for Best Female Collegiate Solo and Best Female Collegiate Song. Congrats to our friends in The Virginia Belles, Exit 245, and Tufts University Beelzebubs for their nominations as well! We can't wait to find out the results on April 9th! Sils Sing for the Holidays at The White House!

On December 21st, 2015, The Sils had the amazing opportunity to sing for visitors of the White House for the yearly Holidays at The White House event. We had such a great time performing our holiday repertoire which included songs such as Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Winter Song, Christmas (Baby Please Come Home), and a few other holiday favorites! After we sang, we got the privilege of touring the White House and seeing all of the beautiful decorations which included giant Christmas trees decorated with beautiful ornaments, giant Nutcrackers and stuffed toy bears, and a hallway filled with tons of hanging snowflakes. All of the Sils had such an amazing time, and it was definitely a highlight of the semester and holiday season!

Check this out.

To usher in the Christmas spirit here at the University of Virginia, the Sil'hooettes collaborated on this music video with the Virginia Gentlemen. Merry Christmas and enjoy!
